Day 18 The Sort of Safari

Sept 19
Safari Day!  Well, sort of... Apparently, in spite of us paying for a safari day as part of our package, Emmanuel did not book a safari truck / tour for us in advance, and so there were no trucks available for our safari day.
Of course we did not get any of that money back. He drove us into the Mara himself, overlanding it in his Toyoto Corrola.  It was (again) a very long, rattling, bumpy ride to the Massai Mara National park, and a ridiculously bumpy jarring ride across the savanna while we were in the park.  We couldn't see much from inside the car, so when it was safe, we could get out of the car to take pictures.  I suppose I shouldn't complain, as we were actually there, in the park, seeing amazing animals, but after everything else on the trip, having yet another experience that was not "as promised" and not "what we paid for" was pretty disappointing.  This was supposed to be our treat day after all the grueling work and poor conditions we had been in (and truly, we had paid a premium for safari trucks and guides that we did not get).

It started out as a rainy morning
